On September 4th in Lausanne, our foundation took part in a productive meeting dedicated to the challenges that highly skilled Ukrainian refugees face in finding employment.

Key takeaways from the first part of the discussion:

• Utilizing expertise: It is important to ensure that people's skills are put to use in the right roles.

• Education and employment: Closing skill gaps and increasing employment opportunities are essential for better integration.

• Collaboration: Strong partnerships between employers, government agencies, and support organizations are crucial in finding the right job opportunities.

• Support: Only a few organizations offer the services needed to help refugees understand and navigate the Swiss job market.

Our team emphasized the need to create support systems that help connect temporarily displaced Ukrainians with local authorities. Psychological support and coaching are key to helping them adapt and grow their skills.

The new S permit conditions, valid until March 2026, provide a clear timeline for both employers and refugees to plan for the future.

In the second part of the event, several organizations presented their projects aimed at supporting Ukrainians, which encouraged a deeper understanding and greater cooperation.
