IvAlive at the Le Livre sur les Quais Book Fair
From August 30 to September 1, one of Europe’s most important book fairs, Le livre sur les quais, took place in the Swiss city of Morges. The IvAlive Foundation was honored to be part of this prestigious event, where we proudly showcased Ukrainian literature on an international stage.
One of our main goals is to promote Ukrainian books, and this fair was a wonderful opportunity to share our values with a wide audience. We were delighted to present works by Ukrainian authors and Ukrainian translations of world literature, which brought joy to many visitors at our booth.
The excitement of our youngest visitors was especially heartwarming—they eagerly picked up the books and began reading them right away. Our collection was diverse, with around 1,100 books on display! Even the most selective readers, including Swiss attendees, found something to enjoy.
This would not have been possible without the support of Ukrainian publishers. The Ranok Publishing House joined us as a partner for the event and provided more than 1,000 books in different genres: children’s educational and informative books, fiction, motivational literature, fantasy, comics, books about Ukraine and its history, and bestsellers. These books not only attracted attention at the fair but will also become part of our future Ukrainian library in Switzerland, knygAlive.
We are especially grateful to Vivat Publishing House, whose team fulfilled our order on the very day Kharkiv was shelled, and to A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-GA Publishing House.
Our sincere thanks go to everyone who helped us in our mission to spread Ukrainian literature worldwide! All proceeds from the fair will go toward building our KnygAlive library and establishing a children's talent center.
Together, we are making a meaningful impact—supporting Ukrainian children and their mothers who are far from home, helping them stay connected to their culture, and giving them the chance to read and learn in Ukrainian!
