A Conversation with Dmytro Shchebetiuk: Inclusion, Unity, and the Power of Personal Stories
As part of the Open Road / Vidkryttia project, we invite you to a special event with Dmytro Shchebetiuk — founder of Dostupno.UA, social activist, athlete, traveller, musician, and one of Ukraine's best-known advocates for accessibility.
Dmytro's life story shows how determination, perseverance, and belief in people can change not only one person's life, but society as a whole. After a spinal cord injury in 2011, he began using a wheelchair, but that didn't stop him from pursuing his dreams and taking on ambitious projects. He became a Master of Sports of Ukraine in swimming, swam across the Bosphorus, completed a marathon, hitchhiked across Ukraine and Europe, studied in the UK, and has spent many years working to improve accessibility and remove barriers across Ukraine.
During the event, we'll talk about inclusion, supporting one another, the power of personal stories, and the unity of Ukrainians wherever they live today. It will be an open conversation about life experiences, challenges, inspiration, and the shared values that help create a society with opportunities for everyone.
