Planned decisions of the Swiss government regarding integration and facilitation of job search for Ukrainian refugees
The federal authorities of Switzerland intend to more actively assist Ukrainian refugees in finding work.
As of November 2023, only every fifth Ukrainian refugee found a job in Switzerland. One of the main obstacles was that until now every person with "status S" had to obtain an official work permit in case of employment. Now this circumstance will be canceled.
Today, every employment contract of every Ukrainian who received a special "status S" is placed on the desk of some local official. The cantonal authorities check the salary specified in the employment contract.
Therefore, soon every Ukrainian refugee hired will only have to inform the authorities about the fact of their employment.
The government's goal is also to make the refugees less of a burden on the social security system, since now Ukrainian refugees are much better informed about the working conditions in Switzerland.
