Le livre sur les quais 2026: IvAlive Joins the Major Book Festival in Morges for the Third Time
Imagine the shores of Lake Geneva filled with books, conversations, and meetings with authors. Among the dozens of tents, you’ll find literature from different countries and cultures, with Ukrainian spoken alongside French and English. This is what Le livre sur les quais, a major literary festival in Morges, looks like every year.
From 4 to 6 September 2026, Morges will once again become a meeting place for writers, readers, publishers, and everyone who loves books. The festival’s 17th edition will bring together around 160 authors. The programme will include author meetings, book signings, readings, discussions, workshops, and other literary events. The festival will take place along the Morges waterfront and at various locations across the city.
For the IvAlive Foundation, this event has already become a special tradition. This year, we are taking part in Le livre sur les quais for the third time, to showcase Ukrainian literature and create a space where people can meet and connect through books.
Books That Bring People Together
For the festival, our team is preparing a special selection of books: bestsellers, new releases, classics, books by favourite authors, as well as titles for children and adults.
Books by Ukrainian authors have a special place in this selection, including books that have been translated into French and English. It is important to us that Ukrainian literature is accessible not only to Ukrainians living in Switzerland, but also to an international audience.
After all, a book can help us stay connected to our culture, pass it on to future generations, and at the same time share it with others.
Behind the Books Are People and Their Stories
Over the years, our participation in Le livre sur les quais has given us many memorable moments.
International visitors have stopped by our stand, at first simply out of curiosity, and then stayed to talk about Ukraine, its culture, and its literature.
Ukrainians have travelled to Morges from other cantons to find a book they had wanted to read for a long time but had not had the chance to buy.
And children have chosen their first books in Ukrainian — sometimes just one, and sometimes several at once.
These are the moments that remind us why access to Ukrainian books abroad matters. It is not only about reading. It is about language, memory, identity, and staying connected to home.
A Ukrainian Voice in the International Literary Community
Le livre sur les quais gives us an opportunity to be part of a wider cultural dialogue. For three days, Morges becomes a place where literature goes beyond the pages of a book and brings together people from different backgrounds, speaking different languages and sharing different experiences.
For the IvAlive Foundation, taking part in the festival is an opportunity to continue doing what matters to us: supporting Ukrainians in Switzerland, preserving Ukrainian culture, and creating opportunities to share it with an international audience.
This year, we’ll once again meet you in Morges — with Ukrainian books, familiar stories, and new discoveries.
We invite you to join us at Le livre sur les quais 2026 from 4 to 6 September in Morges. Come and visit our stand, discover Ukrainian literature, and support a culture that continues to be heard far beyond Ukraine’s borders.
