On 11 January, a special Christmas concert, “I Paint Christmas,” took place in Geneva. It featured traditional Ukrainian carols and brought together talented Ukrainians in a warm and heartfelt atmosphere.

The concert was held with the support of Saint Germain Church — a beautiful historic chapel in the heart of Geneva’s Old Town. It is a place filled with history, peace, and light, where Ukrainian prayers are heard every Sunday. And it was here, on this evening, that the true Christmas spirit came to life through Shchedryk and other songs so familiar and dear to all of us.

The event was hosted by Natalia Rostova-Paladiy and her daughter Olivia, who warmly welcomed guests and created a cozy, family-like atmosphere. Opera singer Yevheniia Provorova captivated everyone with her powerful yet gentle voice.

The church was full. Between the notes — a moving silence. The unique acoustics made it feel as if angels were singing. This is how deeply touching the IvAlive children’s choir sounded. And the choir’s director, Viktoriia Holosna, moved everyone with her heartfelt solo.

This was the choir’s first performance of the year — bright and full of warmth, just like the journey of our little stars. There were tears of joy, sincere hugs, smiles, gifts, and genuine care for one another. The children went home happy — with pizza, sweet treats, and a feeling of celebration that stayed with them all the way home. Just as childhood should be.

Thank you to everyone who shared this evening with us. And remember: Christmas lives on wherever there is love.
