State measures for the employment of Ukrainians in Switzerland
A Member of the State Council, Isabel More, aims to attract more Ukrainian immigrants to work.
Employment of Ukrainians in Vaud Canton is only 11%. It is home to 3,600 working-age adults with S status. It allows candidates to quickly integrate into the market and employers to hire them just as quickly.
"S - status" will be valid until 2025, at most until March 2027. After the expiration of the term, its owners will be forced to return to Ukraine.
According to Isabel, the main problem at the moment is insufficient involvement of Ukrainians in finding employment and learning the language. The canton of Wau has already introduced projects for rapid acquisition of skills in certain industries.
The official urges Ukrainian immigrants to contact the regional employment service and join integration programs.
