The European Commission agreed on extending free roaming for Ukrainians for another year. We are talking about 7 Ukrainian and 22 European mobile operators.

This was reported by the press service of the European Commission. As noted, the European Commission facilitated an agreement between operators to mutually reduce the tariffs they must support for making cross-border calls.

The EC also said that available calls allow Ukrainians seeking shelter in Europe to stay in touch with relatives and friends in Ukraine and vice versa.

At the same time, the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) declared the effectiveness of the agreement. It allows to provide affordable cross-border call services.

In addition, the Commission is preparing for the integration of Ukraine into the EU roaming zone. This will provide a more stable and long-term solution. In April 2023, the Ukraine-EU Association Committee accepted the European Commission's proposal for Ukraine to join the EU rules on roaming.

The next step for Ukraine is the full adaptation to the EU legislation. After that, the Council of the European Union will make a final decision.
