The Swiss Education System: What Ukrainian Families Need to Know
Choosing the right path for further education in Switzerland can raise many questions — especially for families who are used to the Ukrainian education system.
How is the Swiss education system different from education in Ukraine? What path should a young person choose after school? What are apprentissage, gymnase, haute école and université? What transition and integration programmes are available for young people? And how important is French for different education paths?
On 12 September, IvAlive Educational Development Centre will host a lecture by legal consultant Karyna Pavlova about the Swiss education system and its key features.
During the meeting, we will discuss:
• the main differences between the education systems of Ukraine and Switzerland;
• the different education paths, including apprentissage, gymnase, haute école and université;
• transition and integration programmes for young people;
• the importance of French for different education paths;
• Ukrainian school certificates and diplomas, and how they are recognised within the Swiss education system.
The event will be useful for parents, teenagers, young adults and anyone who wants to better understand the options for continuing their education in Switzerland.
