October Cultural Calendar: Events Worth Visiting in the Canton of Vaud
Autumn in the Canton of Vaud is a great time to explore new cultural venues, discover art from different countries, enjoy live music, and spend quality time with the whole family.
We’ve selected four interesting events taking place this October in Lausanne, Morges, and Vevey. They include a major cultural festival, a textile art fair, jazz concerts, and a traditional autumn celebration in Vevey.
1. Lausanne Méditerranées 2026 — Andalusia

This autumn, Lausanne Méditerranées invites you to discover the culture of Andalusia, one of Spain’s most distinctive regions, known for its music, traditions, cuisine, and rich cultural heritage.
The festival programme includes concerts and theatre performances, film screenings, literary events, culinary events, a craft market, creative workshops, and other cultural activities. It’s a great opportunity to discover Andalusia through the arts and learn more about its culture without leaving Lausanne.

2. Festival MySwissMailles

If you enjoy crafts, textile art, and creative activities, head to Morges for Festival MySwissMailles — an event dedicated to wool, yarn, and textile crafts.
The festival brings together local artisans, yarn and natural fibre producers, designers, and anyone interested in creativity and handmade crafts. Visitors can take part in workshops, watch craft demonstrations, browse the market, meet artisans, and discover new creative ideas and techniques.
When: 17–18 October

3. JazzOnze+ Festival Lausanne

At the end of October, Lausanne will once again become a meeting place for jazz enthusiasts. JazzOnze+ Festival Lausanne will offer a rich programme of concerts, musical events, and workshops.
But it is not only for experienced jazz fans. The programme also includes free events for a wider audience, including a concert by Natan Niddam & Friends on 28 October for parents and children. Free concerts and music workshops will take place over the following days.
It’s a great opportunity to introduce children to jazz in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy an evening of culture together as a family.

4. Fête de la Saint-Martin

The traditional Saint-Martin celebration in Vevey is another opportunity to experience the atmosphere of local autumn traditions.
As part of the celebration, there will be a free concert by the municipal brass band Lyre de Vevey at La Grenette. Live music, the historic atmosphere of the town, and local traditions will make this a wonderful opportunity to spend time together as a family and discover more about Vevey’s cultural life.
